How a report reads

Every finding sits on one time rail. Select a mark in your report to hear it.

Marks in an assessment report
MarkWhat it marksHow it is found
SpeechSpoken words, wherever the speech detector finds them in the decoded audio.Voice activity detection, then a transcription model running on FocusDen’s server.
SingingA voice carrying a melody, with or without clear words.Vocal separation on 30-second windows. Long recordings are sampled, and the report says how much was covered.
Unresolved voiceSomething voice-like that produced no words, for further listening.Voice activity without a transcript, or a separated vocal without words.
Noise-like soundBroadband texture such as hiss, rain, wind or crowd. It may be deliberate.Spectral flatness, second by second.
Level changeA sudden rise or drop in loudness that a listener may notice.One-second loudness windows across the whole decoded file.
SilenceA quiet gap inside the recording.Every channel at or below −60 dBFS for a sustained stretch.
Level shiftA long section that sits clearly louder or quieter than the rest.Minute-level medians compared with the whole recording.
Near full scaleSamples close to the digital maximum: possible clipping, or deliberate limiting.Sample peaks.
Musical paceNot checked. No tempo reading is made.

What happens to your audio

Where it goes
Your file is stored privately and checked on FocusDen’s own server. It is not sent to an outside AI service.
Who can open it
As a guest, only this browser and anyone you give your private return link to. Its key lives in a cookie that page scripts cannot read.
How long it is kept
A guest file is deleted 7 days after the check finishes and its report after 30 days. Remove either sooner at any time. An open publication request keeps the file for up to 90 days.

The full detail is on the Privacy page.

Questions

Is the FocusDen audio assessment free?
Yes. The check is free with or without an account, and there is nothing to buy to see the full report.
Do I need an account to assess a recording?
No. Upload a file as a guest and you get the full report, with every marked moment playable from your own file. A free account keeps reports until you remove them, runs more checks, adds an approved edited copy and a report-only share link. Guest reports are deleted after 30 days.
What does the assessment listen for?
Speech, singing, voice-like sounds without words, noise-like passages, silences, sudden level changes, long louder or quieter sections and samples near full scale. Each finding has a timestamp, its basis and a confidence.
Does it tell me whether music is good for focus?
No. It reports what it measured and marks moments to hear again. A full listen still decides.
What happens to my audio file?
It is stored privately and never changed. The check runs on FocusDen’s own server with locally installed tools; your audio is not sent to an outside AI service. As a guest, the file is deleted 7 days after the check finishes and the report after 30 days, unless you remove them sooner. An open publication request keeps the file for up to 90 days. Nothing is published unless you ask and FocusDen approves it.
Which files can I upload?
WAV, MP3, FLAC, OGG, Opus, M4A, MP4 or AAC, up to 512 MB each. A guest can assess 2 hours of audio a day.
Can I assess a YouTube or SoundCloud link instead?
No. The check needs an audio file you are entitled to provide.
Can FocusDen publish my recording?
You can ask, from any finished assessment, with or without an account. A person listens to the exact file and reads its report. Nothing is published automatically, and going live needs a verified account so you can replace or withdraw the release.
Will I be paid if FocusDen publishes my music?
FocusDen plans a paid listening service that shares its revenue with the creators who take part. Its prices, the creator share and the payout terms are not decided yet, and there is no launch date. Publication now is free: listeners pay nothing to hear it and FocusDen pays nothing for it. Before any paid service starts, FocusDen will show you its actual terms, and your recording joins it only if you accept them.
